I finally feel at home. Just mere moments ago I hooked up my stereo system in my little room here at Flyðrugrandi and now the sound of sweet sweet music is flowing everywhere. Yay! This has not happened since 2005 when I moved to Denmark. Since then it has been various computer speakers, many of which were of shitty quality because who can be bothered to move your stereo with you when you move from country to country and apartment to apartment all the time? Not me! Well, now I am content.
As I mentioned in my last drunken post, Airwaves is over. What a strange feeling. I don't want it to be over. I want it to go on forever... or not, because then I'd be a raging alcoholic and would look like shit because I'd never get any sleep. So, in retrospect it might be a good thing that this only happens once a year, for five glorious days.
Anyways, some of my highlights and other stuff:
-I had the most fun at Ra Ra Riot's gig at NASA.
-I was blown away at Grizzly Bear at the Reykjavík Art Museum.
-I was the sweatiest at GusGus at Nasa.
-Diljá Ámundadóttir is one of the biggest highlights. She's the star performer and we always have so much fun together.
-Bummer of the festival is that I missed !!!. Shit Shit Shit!
-Kind of fun to try to juggle working at a festival and having fun at a festival. Early morning phone calls (we're talking 5 AM here, people!) and lots of other things that had to be fixed in the heat of the moment. Annoying at times but still somehow I loved it!
-The people I work with. Such a lovely bunch!
Now it's back to the stupid normal life. I leave you with four of the very few photos I took (next time I HAVE to take more photos).
