The wonders of music

I'm a planner. I love to plan. Not only do I love to plan but I love to share my plans with others. This is something my friends are painfully aware of. Even my new friends. I'm realising more and more how well they know me. Apparently it doesn't take five years to crack the mystery that is me. I'm an open book. Nowadays Peter is trying to make me not plan but I can't stop. Now I just fight the urge to share my plans with him and rarely succeed...:/ This planning, I might add, involves very trivial things like going to the supermarket... not always serious life-altering stuff.

Right now I'm thinking of Vancouver. I've decided to stay there for summer. I don't know what I'll do but I have to make a decision before January 29th when the tickets will be issued. So now I'm doing something that I haven't really planned. I'm trying out this thing called being adventurous... We'll see if it suits me. I think it will:)

Anyways, one thing I can plan is music. Yes, there are soooooo many great bands going to play in Vancouver while I'm there. I've already bought tickets for the Bloc Party and I'm so close to buying a lot more tickets. It's just so hard to choose. So many wonderful opportunities and all of them seem to be whispering: "Kamilla, come see me..." Well, now I just sound crazy. But just to show you how many there are I'll give you a few examples: TV on the Radio, Ratatat, Great Lake Swimmers, Cocorosie, Tapes 'n' Tapes, The Shins, Blonde Redhead and many many more.

So, do you understand my dilemma? Do you have a solution? A bunch of money would be great. All suggestions are welcome in the comments.

Is the music trivia not having the great comeback I expected it to? The last two have been unanswered, which basically sucks. The last song was Like Eating Glass with the Bloc Party. I'll give it one last try. Who performs and what's the name of the song? And now I'm giving you a whole lot to work with. Good luck!
There's been another man that I've needed and I've loved
But that doesn't mean I love you less
And he knows he can't possess me and he knows he never will
There's just this empty place inside of me that only he can fill

Hello Canada!!

I think it's time for a proper blog post. Time to tell you a little bit more about what's going on in my life. The thing that consumes most of my time and brain activity these days is team 12's Vancouver outpost. As I told you before the whole team is going to Vancouver for three months to work on projects concerning sustainability (with a focus on urban, culture, education, ecological and economic). The idea behind the outpost is to basically move our classroom to a place outside Scandinavia to create a playground with new trends, new markets, new friends, new cultures, new ideas and new techniques. So far we have a bunch of potential customers: Vancity , Check your head, Plan Institute, Sustainability group, Pivot Legal, Threadlight, Public Outreach, Ecotrust and Portland Authority. There are a lot of interesting projects and we'll use next week to pick and choose which projects we want to work with.

We already have a place to stay, The YWCA hotel. The YWCA of Vancouver works for the empowerment of today's woman, to enable her to reach full potential in body, mind, and spirit, so it's a good cause. We'll be sharing rooms of three and that'll probably a huge challenge!

The whole class went away together to a cottage in Molsbjerge to do a preject, which basically means that we used that time to create a common platform for our stay in Vancouver, expressing our personal and professional needs. This is done to prepare and hopefully avoid problems that might arise during our outpost. But with working hard comes playing hard and we did that aswell. Lot's of beer and singstar! This was the first time I play singstar and now I'm completely hooked. We had a competition and yours truly made it to the final two but was beaten by the singstar legend Nikolaj.

Tonight we're having a good-bye party. The lovely team 11 is planning it for us and there is a fairytale theme. So I expect to meet princes, princesses, witches, dwarfs, frogs and all sorts of interesting people tonight.

No one was able to answer the last music trivia. It was the Yeah, Yeah, Yeah Song with the Flaming Lips. Check it out! Here's the new music trivia. You know the drill: The band and the name of the song.

New look, new lady

Yes, I decided to give my blog a make-over. Ain't it pretty? I originally wanted something different but after hours of trying to set it up and failing I ended up using this lovely look.

I haven't been blogging much lately. I needed a little break from it. During Christmas break in Iceland I also had a break from TV and my computer. Instead I read and read and read.

I'm back in Denmark now and the countdown has begun for CANADA! Yes, my class is going to Vancouver for three months to do projects. We're leaving on the 14th of February so it's pretty soon.

Well, I don't have much to say. I'm kind of braindead after this make-over stuff but I just want to let you know that I'm back in business!!!

Music trivia for you music buffs out there (and Hannes, congrats! Easy for you, apparently not the others:)). Who performs and what's the name of the song?
If you could make everyobody poor just so you could be rich
Would you do it?

P.s. New pics on flickr.
